Los Lobos
In a long-awaited concert tour, Los Lobos finally brings their mythic 1992 Kiko album to the concert stage -- and Table Mountain Casino brings Los Lobos to their enthusiastic Valley fans on Wednesday, December 28. Los Lobos will perform in the intimate setting of the Table Mountain Casino Entertainment Center, a venue that is perfect for their creative acoustical approach to a special form of rock. Los Lobos is expected to recreate their cultural roots and inspire their audience in the intimate Table Mountain Event Center, a setting that will let them journey with their fans "to places no other group has traveled."
Named album of the year in 1992 by critics, Kiko has been hailed as the revolutionary "roots-rock equivalent of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Each song features its own mix of styles that "doesn't seem like a blend of different genres, but rather the product of different imaginations coming together."
The concert will also feature many fan favorites from more than nineteen albums over the years, including 2005's Acoustic En Vivo. Each Los Lobos album and every song seems to possess a distinct blend of Tex-Mex, Folk, Country, R & B, Blues and traditional Mexican songs from their wedding band days in East Los Angeles. This special Los Lobos sound, instantly recognized by their huge throng of loyal fans is a perfect way to celebrate the music you love and Table Mountain Casino's anniversary, during this Appreciation Celebration by Fresno's favorite local gaming destination.
The doors for Los Lobos open at 8:00 p.m. and tickets are $20 VIP, $15 Reserved and $10 General Admission with a $5 discount for Club Card holders.
Sinbad
Following Los Lobos and Joe Lennigan, Sinbad hits the stage at Table Mountain Casino on Friday, December 30 with his bold, brash comedy style that recalls "the literary legend (of his name) that symbolizes strength, adventure and optimism."
Sinbad, who grew up telling jokes to his three brothers and two sisters, will be in the close physical setting with the audience at Entertainment Center at Table Mountain Casino, interacting with his fans in that same personal way he knew as a young boy. For those who only know Sinbad through television, Sinbad in concert is even more the "wild child, off-the-wall Sinbad who would do anything for attention, free as the wind, an unpredictable force that can't be harnessed, and always willing to pay any price looking for laughs."
Sinbad's style in concert is not as a joke teller ("I don't know any."), but he fills the stage with real-life stories that have audiences rolling in the aisles with their truth and humor. Sinbad's comedy is large, physical and off-the-wall with stories that mirror everyone's foibles. He laughs and lets us laugh at our lifestyles -- all with the explosive energy of the neighborhood. Sinbad is funny, friendly and down-to-earth -- the perfect entertainer for Table Mountain Casino -- in a perfect setting for his fans.
The doors for Sinbad open at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are $20 VIP, $15 Reserved and $10 General Admission with a $5 discount for Club Card holders.
New Year's Eve Concert and Dance with Branscombe Richmond
Following a night of laughs with Sinbad, Table Mountain Casino is sending out the old year and ringing in the new one with a return engagement by the ever popular Branscombe Richmond in a special concert and dance program. Named Mr. Showman of the Year in Las Vegas and the :SA's Native American Entertainer of the Year, Branscombe and his Renegade Posse Band are a sure hit for loyal fans and New Year's Eve revelers looking for a good time, great music and wonderful dancing -- all at an affordable price.
Branscombe's father was a stunt man who loved the accordion and started teaching his son at age six. The music led Branscombe to singing as a young man, and then he realized that music was his business. Now in his forties with more than thirty years of entertaining behind him, Branscombe has just finished a European tour, has been honored as Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year, is a spokesman for Indian motorcycles and was named "Native American Entertainer of the Year in 1998. He says modestly, "I still get stage fright because you always want to be liked and you want to please the audience one more time. But I do guarantee that I will entertain the pants off you ... ."
Sounds like a party with Branscombe for his Valley fans and friends who are looking for a safe, entertaining way to bring in the New Year -- 'Can't miss' New Year's Eve entertainment with Branscombe Richmond and his All American red, white and blue New Year's Eve concert and dance at Table Mountain Casino.
